SWE’s 2023-2024 Fiscal Year (FY24) is soon to be over (June 30th), and it’s time to start thinking about next year (FY25)! Per our section by-laws, we need at least two members to serve on our section nominating committee. Once appointed, the committee will select its own chair.
Members of the nominating committee may not run for an elected core board position for FY25 but may be members of the current core board. A member can lead and/or participate on multiple committees. Thus, if you are interested in being a committee chair next year instead of an elected position, then you can also serve on the nominating committee.
The deadline to sign up below is Friday, March 15th, 2024.
Responsibilities of the nominating committee include:
- Confirm section email is still accessible
- Monitor CB member nominations and ensure bios and pictures have been received
- Vet the slate to make sure someone is running for all elected positions
- Create ballot, submit for approval, and send out to section members to vote
- Tabulate votes
Elected positions include:
- President
- Vice President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Communications Secretary
- Membership Secretary
