On April 6th, several members of our local SWE chapter were able to participate on a professional panel at Iowa's annual High School Conference. This is an event that brings high school girls to campus to learn about engineering, and the different opportunities available to them at the University of Iowa.
On the panel we enjoyed sharing our advice and past experiences with choosing a major and a school, as well as about how we choose our career path. We had a diverse group with a range of majors, experience levels, and backgrounds, and the students asked really good questions so I think everyone involved had a great time! Afterwards we were able to enjoy dinner with the group, which SWE-ECI also provides for the conference.
Thanks so much to our awesome volunteers, and also to the Iowa ladies for putting together such a well organized conference. It is one we look forward to every year!
