The event began with a welcome breakfast with our sponsors and round table discussions. It then broke into the SWE idea share track with two workshops designed for SWE members to learn about dealing with leadership burnout, engaging membership, enhancing participation, and sharing best practices. It was lead by Region H Leadership coaches Betty Leonard and Cathy Krier.
The other track was the career enhancement track with two workshops designed to learn about Communicating and Managing Expectations, Effectively Getting Your Point Across, and Team Accountability and Achieving Desired Results. This track was lead by professional career coach Gale Mote of Gale Mote Associates. She was an amazingly engaging speaker. Between the two sessions was a keynote lunch presentation, "Tools Every Engineer Should Have to Survive Adversity in Changing Times," presented by Gayle Roberts, P.E., President and COO of Stanley Consultants. The event concluded with door prizes and a technical tour of Green Technology Integrated into the Design of Kirkwood's Hotel and Conference Center.
Overall it was a wonderful day full of networking and professional development. Thanks to all who attended!
