On Saturday, October 24th, as part of the Society of Women Engineer's Annual Conference. Sr Director of Avionics Programs at Rockwell Collins, Jenny Miller, from Cedar Rapids, hosted an inspiring panel on work life balance entitled "How Does She Do It?" Six other senior executives from major companies across the country joined her for this plenary session. They spoke about what worked and what didn't for them as they have grown their careers and families over the years. Watch the full video below!

On Thursday, January 15, nearly 50 people attended SWE-ECI’s “New Year, New You” event at White Star Ale House in Cedar Rapids. Organizational development coach Gale Mote gave a very engaging address to help attendees understand how to use their strengths to find new success in 2015. SWE-ECI was honored to host her.  On December 11, 2013 members and friends of SWE-ECI met at White Star Ale House to learn about relaxation and stress relief (a fitting topic for the holidays!), and have a little fun while networking.
 On Saturday, July 27th, SWE-ECI hosted the third annual All Iowa SWE Conference at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City. It featured keynote speaker, Jo Miller, who gave the keynote address, "Build Your Brand as an Emerging Leader."
On December 5th, SWE celebrated its birthday at Daniel Arthur’s, 821 3rd Avenue Southeast in Cedar Rapids, with cocktails, plentiful food, learning about STEM outreach opportunities in the area. There were approximately 30 people in attendance and it enhanced a great environment for networking.
SWE-ECI together with the Rockwell Collins Women's Forum (formerly the Rockwell Collins Women's Employee Network) hosted Jennifer Allyn, Managing Director in the Office of Diversity for PricewaterhouseCoopers, who facilitated a panel discussion with five Rockwell Collin's women leaders and led the audience in a candid conversation about credibility.
Two professors from the University of Iowa presented a technical presentation of their research to interested SWE members.
 On February 22, leadership and success coach, Heather Woody presented “Leading at Any Level” to SWE-ECI at the Kirkwood Training and Outreach Center. The interactive session discussed the true measure of leadership – influence; and how to incorporate this into many aspects of one’s life.
On April 9, 2011, SWE-ECI held the inaugural All Iowa SWE Conference at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center. The event was well attended by all 4 Iowa SWE professional chapters. Thank you to our sponsors, HR Green, Rockwell Collins, General Mills, John Deere, HyVee, and Terracon. |
