SWE recently sponsored a special award during the recent Future Cities competition at Prairie Point Middle School. A couple of SWE members went to evaluate and rank four teams based on the model that displayed the most diverse use of materials and shapes. Although all four teams did a great job, the La Tierra del Agua city went above and beyond with its city's uniqueness. These students from Ottumwa won SWE's Most Diverse Infrastructure Award. Future Cities is an awesome opportunity for students in grades 6th through 8th to build cities of the future while addressing certain sustainability issues.
