The Southeast Iowa STEM Hub is partnering with Collins Aerospace to organize STEM event to increase interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and careers among Iowa students by partnering with youth, parents, educators, employers, non-profit organizations, policy leaders, and others. Organized like a street fair, the STEM festival will feature STEM businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations engaging students in hands-on activities, demonstrations, and conversations about STEM. SWE ECI is looking for volunteers to run help run our booth at the Community STEM Day.

The STEM festival will be held on the Collins Aerospace campus in Cedar Rapids (parking lot outside Building 112). We’ll have a large tent to house the exhibitors. Additionally, Collins Aerospace will be offering lab tours and mini STEM workshops. Plus, we’ll have food trucks on-site to complete the street fair vibe!

The event is open to the public, and attendees will include PK-12 students, their families, and other community members from the Cedar Rapids area. Tentatively, we’re expecting about 1,500 individuals to attend.
