SWE Lunch Webinar
When: Thursday August 29th 11:30am-12:30pm
Where:
CIVCO (Aug. 19th): ASTRA Conference Room
Collins Aerospace: 106-193 Lean Electronics
P&G: Training Room A at P&G Oral Care
Schneider Electric: IOWA Conference Room
Quaker: Milling R&D Confr. Rm., WH2, 3rd FL
DuPont: Andrel Room
HR Green (Sept. 3rd)
This session will delve into the discussion of diversity in the workplace and the world with the focus being on race. The topic of race is known to be an uncomfortable one to discuss with others, especially in the workplace, which is why sessions like this are rare and will likely be tough to sit though. While the average workplace tends to suppress the discussion of race, the speakers suggest, from personal experience and scientific research, that those companies which openly address the topic and speak about race frequently and honestly are likely to have higher levels of diversity and increased performance. Come learn about two incredible women: the first being one of the two African American women who has become the CEO of a Fortune 250 company and the second being arguably the most powerful woman in history (Yes, she is also African American.).
